Food for talk

Are you passionate about healthy food and sustainable farming? Do you want to discuss with others on the future of our food? You know a local farm, bakery, canteen, community garden or food co-op worth visiting? Then join us for Food for Talk this May!

What is the plan?

We support groups and organizations across Europe to set up a Food for talk visit in their area. Food for Talk aims at fostering meaningful dialogue between various actors during a day-visit at a food-related location. We invite you to organize a visit and discuss sustainable food with others – sharing perspectives, creating understanding and promoting collaboration!

Why do we act?

In September, the EU commission will propose a law that could change our food systems for the better.  It’s a critical moment in history to make a change – towards food and agriculture that work in favor of all people, biodiversity and climate! By participating in Food for Talk, you can make your voices heard and help us to create a powerful European campaign later in the year.

How to join?

We will have our first online info-event for Food for talk on Tuesday, 6 April (10:00 AM). You are welcome to join, ask your questions and recieve all the information you need to get started. In case you have any further questions, feel free to contact us via info@goodfoodgoodfarming.eu

Background

The EU commission will propose a framework on sustainable food systems (SFS law) in September 2023. The SFS is a potentially game-changing agri-food policy  that could broadcast sustainability standards to various sectors of production, consumption, environment and health. It will be crucial to obtain a strong definition of sustainable food systems in this framework law and ensure that a holistic and systemic approach is implemented. With our campaigning efforts, concerted actions across Europe and close collaboration with civil society organisations we will ensure that the SFS law delivers on its promises.
